It Cosmetics CC Cream |Swatch and Review|

I had been wanting to try this foundation for quite some time now but was always put off as it wasn’t available in any stores near me and I didn’t want to purchase it online and end up getting the wrong shade. I recently went shopping with my mum to Bluewater where Boots sold this product so we both decided to check out the product and get one each.

The It Cosmetics Illuminating CC Cream is colour correcting, anti-ageing, hydrating, illuminating and offers full coverage application. The product is infused with hydrolized collagen peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, anti oxidants and vitamin C. It also has micronized light-reflecting pigments to give glowing skin without glitter or shimmer. Not only is it illuminating and hydrating, it also contains SPF 50+.

Here is the product on my arm not blended. The next pictures are the product blended.

I really like this CC cream. I find it applies beautifully with either a brush or a sponge and a little goes a long way. I would say this product is more medium coverage than full but it is buildable, although I couldn’t build it up too much as the shade wasn’t quite light enough for me, so didn’t properly match my skin tone and it also started to look thick and more unnatural on my skin. I really like the hydrating benefits of this CC cream as I’m currently suffering a lot of acne and am prone to dryness around the spots, but the didn’t cling or cake at all.

The coverage wasn’t quite full enough that it covered my acne and dark circles fully, I still needed to apply some concealer in my trouble zones but it still did make a fair bit of difference alone. As I previously mentioned about the shade of the product, I found they did not have a huge shade range as the lightest shade (fair) was a tad too orange for me but not noticeable if I’m not layering the product.

This is my bare face, no makeup!

And here is my skin after applying concealer in the parts where I needed it

I did some research online and found some advice on the best way to apply the product is by focusing on parts of the face that need coverage. By doing this, you will be using less product and achieving a more natural no-makeup look.

Pros:

  • Gives skin a beautiful glow
  • Not cakey
  • Hydrating (didn’t cling to any dry patches)
  • Contains SPF 50+
  • Buildable

Cons

  • Limited shade range
  • Lightest shade not light enough

Price: £32
